The legends and stories of ancient are termed as demonic, rejected and devilish devil worship names such as Dakuwaqa Daucina Degei Lutunasobasoba Ciri Nakaumoli Turukawa etc etc demigods 
Maybe it's just me but reality are that these half gods exist in the next level above humanity ...they seemed to be spirit beings and humans at the same time
In Fiji a related group of people have a totem a plant a fish water creature or bird of the air or an animal.
These are believed to be protectors gods 
These are the avitars of ones god. This isn't God but but a representative of this God.
